In the end, the only way to make sense out of the movie (and its sequel) is to imagine that all of those characters are in a mental institution and pretty much acting all this stuff together. So what was he kicking stuff about before ? No idea. You cut to a shot of him kicking stuff because he is pissed off, which makes sense, BUT THEN a guy comes in and tells him that they declined. My favorite one is in the second movie: there's a scene in which some of his lieutenants go and try and recruit some guys, but they decline. His emotions are completely out of control, there is even a scene where he is crying and we never know why the fuck he's crying. None of it makes any sense, and most of the dialogue is just non sensical cool guy one liners.īesides the main characters keeps getting angry for no reason at all. They have classrooms and shit, but they never go to class, and yet they still graduate and leave at some point for some reason. The whole school is just a setting for fights to happen, the teachers are only here to introduce the new students at the beginning of the movie and they then disappear completely. All of the others have no reason to fight except for the fuck of it. The hero, played by Shun Oguri, is the son of a Yakuza Leader, and he wants to succeed where his father couldn't and lead the school.Īnd that's basically the only character with a backstory. I recommend it by the way, it is a hilarious japanese movie about high schoolers who fight to take control of their school.īasically, there is this school called Suzuran, and all the tough guys in town went there, and they fought to be the strongest man there.
I know this is a classic one and quite often seen as a joke, but this is pretty much the only way you could make sense of that movie.
